I’m Fiona Pollack, a researcher and consultant on AI and national security. Most recently, I have been a fellow and member of the adjunct staff at the RAND Corporation. Before that, I served as a Special Assistant to the National Security Council and the White House Office of Pandemic Preparedness and Response Policy, where my portfolio primarily covered emerging risks from synthetic biology. Before joining the Executive Office of the President, I worked on AI and biosecurity issues in the Pentagon at the Nuclear and Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Policy Office, where I developed guidance informing tens of millions of dollars in defense spending. I received my A.B. in Applied Mathematics with honors from Harvard University.
